Flaring of Methane produced from the Sewage Treatment Plant is highly hazardous and detrimental to the environment. Besides, it is
waste of a precious source of renewable energy that can be utilized to run the Sewage treatment plant. Envirex India is a pioneer in India for indigenously
designing, developing and implementing a qualitative system to efficiently convert the methane from Sewage treatment plants into a renewable and sustainable source
of energy.    Sewage produced from the Treatment Plant is fed to the Anaerobic Digesters and thoroughly mixed. Biogas generated by the Activated Sludge/ UASB process is passed through moisture separators and conveyed to the Scrubber system. Dust and highly corrosive Hydrogen Sulphide is removed by water and chemical scrubbing. Scrubbed gas is stored in the Double Membrane Gas Holder. Gas Holder enables continuous availability of Biogas, in addition to meeting the surge demands. Gas from the Gas Holder is utilized to produce Power in the Biogas Engine Generator Set. Electric power generated by the Biogas Engine is used to run the Sewage Treatment Plant.
The fully automated system with PLC, SCADA and other instruments ensures smooth operation, better safety and enhanced efficiency. A Flare system is provided to burn the Biogas when the Engine is shut off or in some emergency situations.
